Available Services

At CPCC we offer a full range of services that include both individual and group treatment.

Our individual sessions are specifically geared to provide intense (yet playful) one on one interaction between child and clinician with a focus on meeting both short and long term goals. To further enhance progress, sessions are videotaped weekly and home practice suggestions are provided.

We also offer a variety of treatments in a group setting (normally during summer months only). Speech and language groups are a valuable asset to a child's treatment program. They allow children the opportunity to use their new speech and/or language skills in a less structured, peer based, fun environment. Groups allow for improved speech, language and social skills, along with increased confidence in communicating. Groups are arranged during the summer months to accommodate each child's specific needs. Generally, groups meet for 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions once a week. We encourage you to let us know if you have any questions regarding any of our groups. Below is a brief description of what each group will focus on.

Social Skills Groups:
A variety of topics include: conversation essentials (initiation, maintenance and closure), strategies for conversational repair, getting along with others (social problem solving), hanging out with friends and communicating feelings and emotions.

Speech Groups:
Emphasis is placed on increasing the child's overall speech clarity and expressive language skills while increasing their confidence in becoming an effective communicator. Group goals include: increasing speech clarity, sentence formulation, question formulation, eye contact and verbal turn taking.

Language Groups:
This fun play based program targets the child's receptive and expressive language skills through both structured and unstructured activities.
