Signs that might prompt you to contact a Physical Therapist
- Delayed milestones (i.e. sitting, crawling, walking)
- Core body weakness in the trunk muscles
- Low muscle tone causing weakness or spasticity causing muscle tightness
- Trouble walking or frequent loss of balance (i.e. tripping and falling)
- Appears clumsy or uncoordinated
- Difficulty using stairs, jumping or balancing on one foot
- Not able to keep up with peers in running, outdoor play structures or sports
- Poor posture to sit with stability or to walk erect
- Requires assistance in ordering a wheelchair, leg orthotics or therapeutic equipment
- Poor eye-hand/leg coordination to kick, play catch or hop
