Signs that might prompt you to contact a Physical Therapist
Delayed milestones (i.e. sitting, crawling, walking)
Core body weakness in the trunk muscles
Low muscle tone causing weakness or spasticity causing muscle tightness
Trouble walking or frequent loss of balance (i.e. tripping and falling)
Appears clumsy or uncoordinated
Difficulty using stairs, jumping or balancing on one foot
Not able to keep up with peers in running, outdoor play structures or sports
Poor posture to sit with stability or to walk erect
Requires assistance in ordering a wheelchair, leg orthotics or
therapeutic equipment
Poor eye-hand/leg coordination to kick, play catch or hop
